About the Venue
Nashville Superspeedway is located in Lebanon, Tennessee, about 30 miles east of Nashville. It’s a concrete oval track 1.333-miles in length. The Nashville Superspeedway is one of only three concrete tracks on the NASCAR circuit; Bristol and Dover are the only other two.
The speedway was built in 2001 and currently hosts four major races: two NASCAR Busch Series races, an Indy Racing League event, and a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. Current permanent seating capacity is approximately 50,000 and the grandstands feature 100 percent site-line visibility.
Additional portable seats are brought in for some events, and the facility is said to have been designed in a way that it would be relatively simple to increase the seating capacity to 150,000. Partly because of this there has always been speculation that this facility was built primarily to bring a Nextel Cup race back to the Nashville area.
The track is known for its tradition of handing out Gibson Les Paul guitars as trophies.
