UPS to roll with Roush Fenway Racing, Ford
UPS will join Roush Fenway Racing and return to Ford cars for the 2009 NASCAR season under a new multi-year agreement. The Atlanta-based package shipper said David Ragan will race the No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion next season in a revitalized UPS motorsports program. The agreement also marks a return to Ford Motor Co. Ragan and Roush Fenway Racing will be supported by UPS with a variety of new programs, to be fully announced in coming weeks, including an entirely new advertising campaign. Bank of America unveils new NASCAR ad

May 12, 2008 // Bank of America, the Official Bank of NASCAR, will rev up the excitement surrounding the 2008 racing season with the debut of the company's first-ever NASCAR-themed television commercial, which celebrates the passion fans have for their favorite drivers and promotes the bank's popular My Expression NASCAR Banking program.
The 30 second spot is titled "Who's Your Driver?" and features footage of a number of top NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers whose likenesses are available on NASCAR Banking check cards and credit cards. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Juan Pablo Montoya and Martin Truex Jr., are featured in the new ad and are among the most popular selling drivers featured in the bank's NASCAR Banking products.
In addition to actual racing footage, the ad features fans demonstrating their passion for their favorite drivers at the racetrack and in their homes. One particular sequence captures a family of NASCAR fans with differing driver loyalties with a living room equally divided with one side supporting Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the other Jeff Gordon.

Best Buy Co. Inc. will sponsor a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway in Delaware on June 1. Under the deal, the race will be named the "Best Buy 400 benefitting Student Clubs for Autism Speaks." Richfield-based Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) also sponsors Elliott Sadler's No. 19 car, but this is the first time the company has sponsored a race.

Sponsorship money has never been more important to NASCAR teams than it is today, and several cars (and teams) have found themselves without sponsors or only having sponsorship for a few races thoughout the seaon. The challenge will kick off with a race at the 3/8-mile Sharon (Ohio) Speedway on June 17. Owned and operated by Blaney and a group of local partners, Sharon Speedway is one of the country’s leading short tracks and hosts several 410 sprint car events throughout the season.
The second round of the Ollie’s 360 Challenge will take place at Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on July 8. The high-banked, half-mile oval has a storied history that spans more than 50 years and is a staple in the sprint car universe.
The third and final round of the Ollie’s 360 Challenge will be hosted by Kahne and wrap up at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on August 19. The facility, a favorite of Kahne’s, boasts a half-mile speedplant and one of the most loyal sprint car racing fan bases in the country.

April 2, 2008 // PHOENIX - Phoenix International Raceway announced a partnership with the Jimmie Johnson Foundation for the April 10 NASCAR Camping World Series West race at PIR, to be named the Jimmie Johnson Foundation 150. The Jimmie Johnson Foundation 150 is scheduled as the first of three races during the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 event weekend, on April 10.
The Jimmie Johnson Foundation is dedicated to assisting children, families and communities in need. The foundation's partner programs include: American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Hendrick Marrow Program, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and Victory Junction Gang Camp.
"This is an exciting opportunity for the Jimmie Johnson Foundation and the charities that Jimmie and I are passionate about helping," said Chandra Johnson, co-founder of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. Quaker State delivers star power for its 'Q' motor oil in a new spot that will break Sunday during Nascar's Samsung 500 race on Fox TV.
The 30-second spot, featuring the Hendrick Motorsports team—composed of Nascar drivers Jeff Gordon, Casey Mears, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.—delivers a twist on the "Unleash all your horses" campaign that was first launched in 2005.
In the ad, called "Battle," via Doner, Southfield, Mich., the four all-star drivers are shown in their cars in a desert, facing opposite several dozen cars on the other end. Both sides rev their engines and then take off heading straight at each other. The Hendrick team is flanked by golden animated horses, which have been part of the creative since the campaign's inception. The two bodies of cars collide, with the Hendrick drivers emerging on the other side, unscathed.
"Battle" will run through the end of the year on other channels, including Spike, Comedy Central, TBS, VH1, Adult Swim, Speed and ESPN. (From BrandWeek.com)

April 1, 2008 // PLANO, Texas – DLP HDTV officials announced today that they will extend their sponsorship of the No. 96 Hall of Fame Racing Toyota driven by J.J. Yeley in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
DLP HDTV, which has been the primary sponsor on the No. 96 car since its inception in 2006, will remain in that role through the 2009 season.
